Today is a brand new day and I’m hoping that it will be your best day so far this year… full of love, peace, joy, and the fulfillment of your dreams and desires. But, you’ve got to know that the rising of the sun each morning does not automatically, magically, or otherwise cause the condition of your life to change.
Yes, it’s a new day; but what’s new about you? See, if you didn’t change your mindset, your life will not change. If you didn’t change your attitude, your relationships will not change. If you didn’t change your spending habits, your status and condition will not change. If you didn’t change how and what you eat, your health will not change. If you didn’t change how you move through this world, your life, career, business, etc. WILL NOT CHANGE.
Intentions can be good, but they don’t always result in the desired outcome. Goals are supposed to be more than a statement of intent. They are supposed to be a firm decision to do or not to do something, but they mean little without any action to go along with them.
So, what can you do to ensure that today will be different from yesterday? I suggest making a commitment to change yourself before you make a commitment to do anything else. Do some deep, honest self-reflection about who you are, what you value, what motivates you, what distracts you, and who you want to be. Don’t lie to yourself. Don’t draw a picture of the person you want to become just yet. Focus on getting clear on who you are today so you know what adjustments you need to make to transform into the person you want to become. This is the hard work that comes along with success, greatness, and living a life of purpose and power. You have to fix you before you can fix anything or anyone else; and, you have to acknowledge the role you have played in whatever wasn’t right in your life before today.
Remember, nothing will change until you change. Yes, it’s a new day; but are you a new you?
