This Christian walk is no leisurely stroll through life. It is a journey; perhaps we can even call it an adventure. One that takes us through bright and wide-open pastures where we lack nothing, to rugged and ragged mountain ranges that we must scale just to get a peek at what destiny awaits us. While you may never see a giant in your life, believe me, they are there. They are living inside of you, waiting for the most inopportune time to express themselves or they are already in control of your life, and you either don’t know it or you do, and you’re ready to kill them.

These giants are no ordinary creatures. They operate in clandestine environments. While they are big, weighty, and destructive, they hide easily behind our holy facades, our demure masks, our titles, positions, and work in the church -none of which increase our righteousness. These giants are energized by our silence. They are enabled to wreak havoc in our lives when our pride does not allow us to ask for the help we need to overcome them.

Yes, we can overcome them. We can defeat the giants within.

The giants that rage against our purpose and calling and mock our anointing. The giants that are holding us captive from the life that God has called us to. I don’t know about you. But I’m tired of fighting these giants. It’s time to win.

But the answer is not to give up. It is to fight with the right weapons.

These are spiritual giants and they can only be defeated with spiritual weapons. Your resiliency does not make you ready. Your grit is not great enough. Your will alone is not strong enough to win.
